Dr. Terry McCandies is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Georgetown, Delaware. As a therapist, I approach psychotherapy with acceptance and appreciation of each person’s unique life experience. Some experiences have powerful memories, everlasting pain and hurt attached to them. To help clients get through the resulting anxiety, depression, anger, resentment, grief, guilt, shame, physical problems, self-destruction, and self-sabotaging patterns of behaviors, I use a variety of theoretical orientations, techniques, and interventions. My goal is for you to have more good days than bad ones and to feel good about being you. I will invite you to develop psychological and emotional autonomy and to accept pain and challenge as opportunities to grow and to build balance in your personal, professional, and family life. For some, the time we spend together will be brief. One or two session may be enough to get you on your way.
